June-Aug of 2012

In June, Josh and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary! We had a photo shoot done by Payge Stevens Photography! It was so much fun! We also were able to go to California. Josh's best friend from childhood got married and Josh was in the wedding. We treated this trip as an anniversary trip and tacked on a few days to go have some fun! It was a blast! In July, we put our house on the market. We were asked to lead a Missional Community in Murphy and decided if we were going to lead over there, we needed to live close. We haven't been in our house long, but decided that we would see what happened...it didn't sell and we actually took it off the market at the very end of February...I will get to that! Also in July, we went to Colorado to visit my family! We go every summer and it is always a blast! August is super hot, so what better of an activity than to bathe the stinky dog! The kids seriously had a blast! All 3 of our kids were in a wedding, they were stinkin adorable and did a wonderful job! The girls started Kindergarten (Aydia) and 1st grade (Riley) at Vista Academy which happens to be just up the street from us!

A year has gone by...

I can't believe a year has gone by since my last blog...over a year to be exact. Life gets crazy with lots of kids! I am going to try and do a quick update of our last year or so...it will be in several posts just so I can throw some photos in there. Who wants to read a blog with no photos?! Not me! Here we go, lets start with January-May of 2012. I will warn, a lot of these photos are instagram and therefore won't be the best quality! In January, we started a new healthy way of living. Josh had some health issues and we decided to change our diets majorly. We started eating plant-based. It has worked wonderful for our family. While I have now settled on still incorporating some dairy and a little meat for me and the kids, Josh is still "plant strong"! The changes have helped him a lot...all of us, really! Here is a photo of us 30lbs different from eating healthy and exercising! They were taken about 9 months apart. Also in January, we took a trip to the Zoo with some friends! In February, Zeke turned 2! He also got his first hair cut and with turning 2 came a whole new crazy! In March, the girls donated their hair to Locks of Love! This was such an amazing moment! They had seen a lady that had no hair because she had cancer. They were very inquisitive about it and when we told them about places like Locks of Love where people could donate their hair and it would be made into a wig for someone who had cancer, they wanted to donate. They seriously are so sweet! Riley also turned 6 this month...I can't find photos of that :( Aydia turned 5 in April, I also cannot find photos of this either :( We have done a huge rehaul of our photos and put some of them on backup hard drives and they are on there. In May, Riley graduated from Kindergarten! She was awarded the congeniality award! Josh and I went to Atlanta to see Matt Ward play in a concert in May as well! It was fun...quick, but fun! I think that about wraps up the Spring!

Our family!

These are the family photos that I took while my family was in town!

FAIL!!!

Wow, what a blogger fail I have been! I have to say that since having kid #3 just about 2 years ago, everything seemed to double as far as what needed to get done and I didn't double, so some things have had to slip to the background and unfortunately blogging was one of them! I want to do a better job at keeping up with my blog! Here I go!

Well, I guess I will just sort of recap on some things that happened in 2011...specifically toward the end since that is especially when I got bad at blogging! Both of the girls are in school, so that gives 3 days a week for just Z and I to hang out!

The fall was SOOOO busy for my photography business! It was awesome! I have a feeling that will always be the busiest time of year for me. I am coming up on a year in my photography business, how exciting!

Josh and I attended a class held at our church called, The Renovation of the Heart. It was an amazing class, life changing. I learned a lot about myself, as well as a lot about the Lord. I think the main thing that changed my life was actually coming to understand the Lord's love.

We went to a cabin in OK with the Brock's for Thanksgiving, it was fun and relaxing! NOTHING to do, it was great!

My family came for a visit around Christmas time, it is always good to have them here! While they were here, we did some family photos...I will put those in the next post!

Right now, I guess the main thing going on is trying to fix up our house to sell it. We have felt the Lord calling us to move for over a year now and have just been trying to be patient in waiting on the Lord's timing. We both feel the time is coming soon! It is such a project to fix things in a house built in the 50's! We were trying to fix the shower head in the girls bathroom so we would have one to use while we gutted our bathroom and it resulted in a bathroom gut of the guest bath...crazy! Apparently they built houses with concrete walls back in the 50's, so to get to anything behind the wall, you had to demo through the concrete...it was a mess!

Happiness wins!

First of all, wow, do I ever get the award for worst blogger ever! 1 blog post in June...sad. What can I say, I'm busy! Anyways, I want to tell a little story about Riley!

The girls are going to a VBS this week. They missed the first day (yesterday) because they had to go to the dentist, so today was their first day. They had some sort of competition going on between the girls and boys for how many of the girls or boys could bring money to donate to help some babies to get diapers (sorry the description is so vague...I obviously don't really know the details!). Anyways, it was a girls against boys competition! The girls won. Riley came home from VBS this was our conversation
Riley: "I'm sad the boys didn't win."
Me: "Why?"
Riley: "Because a lot of the boys were sad that they didn't win."
Me: "Well, the girls won, does that make you happy?"
Riley: "No, because the boys were sad."

She has the sweetest heart! Winning wasn't even the object here to her, happiness was! I hope I can foster this character in her, I love it!
