A day in the life of a firefighter's wife!

Josh is at work. The girls have been sick, whiny, tantrum throwing, disobeying, backtalking, crazy little chickens. I needed to get out of the house. Here is what we did!

Meds for the girls and us. And some Mrs. Meyer's cleaning supplies for the new house! Super excited about them! Oh, and a Christmas gift!

Get in the car. Riley is coughing and wheezing really bad. Call Josh..."what do I do?" "Bring her up here, we can check her out." What, free health care! Ok! Here we go...

She had to get a breathing treatment. Of course, we can't go see daddy without seeing the fire truck, jumping on daddy's bed, looking in his locker, eating some candy, and hanging out with the guys.
Home, nap, dinner, bed! Pretty successful/productive day.
What did you do today?

Ya know that song that goes, "Oh by gosh, by golly..."? It came on in the car today and Riley says, "Mom, did you hear what that song said?"
"Yes Riley, I heard what it said."
"It said, oh my gosh, my goodness!"

Question Monday...

Question: "What is one of your most embarrassing moments?!"

My answer: There have not been many times where I felt embarrassed, but I would say one would be when I was 14, my sisters and bff EG went to this little pool/waterpark and I went down this slide and swam over to the side, hopped out and looked back towards the water and noticed someone's top had come off. I laughed that that happened to someone and then wondered why everyone was staring at me...oh, that is my top!

Come on, don't be afraid to share!

Aydia comes into the kitchen.

Aydia: "Mom, I want mo ceos, peas." (translation: "Mom, I want more cereal please.")

Me: "Ok." Get her some. "Here you go."

Aydia: "Tak u! I gunna go watch tb, ok?"

Me: "Um, ok, you do that!"

What? You're going to go watch tv? You crack me up!

Wow...

I am worn out. Aydia is not feeling good and she is being quite a handful. I feel bad for the girl, she is just miserable, but the whining and tantrum throwing over every little thing is really getting tiresome for me. She just got bit by an ant and just FREAKED forever...wow.

Anyways, enough of a pity party for me. One day Josh and I both had doctor's appointments, so we took turns with the girls. I took them to Chick Fil A and took these pictures!




On another note, the inspection on our house went really good. The electrical work is pretty old and not up to code. We asked them to fix it and they came back and said they would give us $1000.00 cash, so we are going to take it. Josh has a friend who said he could do it for us for just the cost of the materials, so that helps! Next we close on the 17th and then move in! I am SO excited! I am so ready to live in our own house and just be the 4 of us! It has been WAY too long! I am not very good at waiting when there is a new transition in our lives about to happen...that in between time is difficult for me, so that is what will be going on with me the next 2 weeks or so! If anyone wants to help us move, let me know...it will be on the 19th!

My fam is coming to town for Christmas and I am so excited! They will get to hang with us at our new place! Couldn't have worked out any better! I just looked at pictures of the Potter Thanksgiving, and it kinda made me sad...I miss them. Especially around the holidays. Don't get me wrong, I have TONS of fun with the Brock's, it is just that I spent 20 years of holidays with the Potter's and so I miss them around these times! Love you guys!

So, we have a plethera of ants here at this house we are in. It is annoying. I find them everywhere. I want to scream curse words at them and I want them all to die. What is their purpose? To make people miserable? I am pretty convinced it is.

Josh is off today, so I am excited for that. He works again tom, so if anyone wants to hang, let me know!

Surprise date!

Josh took me out on a surprise date! He had a day off and made all the plans on his own! He got his mom to babysit (overnight!) and told me what to pack! First, we went to lunch at El Fenix! Yummy!

Then shopping at the Galeria!

Next, off to our secret destination!

We pull up and I see this...

Josh says: "There is a waterpark!" I say a little nervously: "Oh, is it open?" Josh: "Yes!" Me: "It's going to be cold!" Josh: "It is an indoor waterpark!" Me: "YES, I was a little nervous about that!"
We go check in and get to our room!

We put on our bathing suits right away and headed for the waterpark! We were there for 2 hours! It was freakin awesome! I love being a kid! They had a bunch of slides that we could ride together in a tube, so that was pretty wicked! We had SO much fun at the waterpark! Of course, we couldn't stop talking about how much our girls would love it (they had a cute little kid section) and when we could bring them! We decided we were pretty hungry, so we went back to our room to get ready for dinner!

We ate there at the lodge and then got some ice cream and went back to our room to watch a movie! Josh got a chocolate shake and I got peppermint ice cream in a waffle cone with real bits of peppermint in it! Yum!

While watching a movie, we both fell asleep on the couch around 9:30...how lame is that?!
Sunday morning, we went off to a movie...The Changeling! I liked it!

We had such a fun time together! We actually have not been able to do anything like this since our honeymoon, so it was time! We are definitely not going to wait 3 years to go on a little vacation together ever again!

World, you make me sick...

This is ridiculous. A man who worked at Walmart was trampled to death today by shoppers. This just makes me furious. What could those people possibly need so badly, that they have to break down the door and trample a man? A tv, toys for their kids (who probably have hundreds already), a Wii, some shirts, wrapping paper...seriously? This world is SO materialistic it makes me sick.

What are you thankful for today?

I am thankful for my sweet girls! My husband and all of our family! I am thankful that the Lord provides our every needs and I am especially thankful that the Lord allowed us to buy our first house yesterday!

My little Aydia! She is becoming such a little kid. It is sort of sad. I miss my baby :(, but I love my new toddler! She is my sweet, beautiful, busy, big, passionate, goofy, shy, cautious Ayders! Love that girl!

My answer: Ireland. For some reason, I have always wanted to go there. It just seems like a cool place! And my husband's fam is part Irish, so that makes it even cooler! Josh told me that we can try to go for our 5th anniversary! Yay!

We are driving home from a friends house last night around 8 pm.

Riley: "Mom, look what's in my mouth." With her mouth wide open.
Me: "I can't see anything in there, it is too dark. What is in your mouth?"
Riley: "A boogie."
Me: "Ewe, Ri, why is there a boogie in your mouth, that is gross."
Riley: "Because I'm eating it."
Me: "Yuck, we don't eat boogies."
Riley: "Mom, look, it's all gone, I ate it!" With the most enthusiasm ever!
Me: "Ok, Riley, let's not eat our boogies anymore, ok?"
Riley: "We just eat food."
Me: "Yes, we just eat food."
Riley: "Not boogies."
Me: "That's right, not boogies."

Where do they get these things?

This conve was last night when I am putting her to bed, she always asks us to lay with her, so I agreed and was laying with her.

Me: Yawn. "Man, I am tired."
Riley: "I'm tired too, that was an early day!"

This one's all about Ri!

My little Riley! She is pretty much potty trained! This is quite exciting! She is great on the peeing part, she has had 1 poo accident in the last 3 weeks, so I would say that is pretty good! Man, it is so much easier than diapers! She loves wearing panties and her little butt looks so cute in them! She loves to play with her friends. She is a social butterfly! She is sweet, caring, motherly, funny, calm, and very lovey! She will hug you or kiss you anytime of the day! She never turns down some good lovin! She is very much the oldest child. She thinks she is everyone's mommy and they have to listen to her! She doesn't like to be dirty or to make a mess. She loves to jump on the couch. What we are doing for Christmas...

So this year for Christmas, our family, along with our church family is going to build wells for people who don't have clean water. I am not saying this to brag, because that is totally not what it is about. I am saying it in hopes to get your help. Please watch this video and join the cause. If you want to help, just ask me what you can do! Think about how awesome it would be to be able to give clean, drinkable water to people instead of giving/receiving so many gifts on material things that really, do you need?

Halloween...

This was for a fall festival.

They wanted to get their faces painted...the line was REALLY long...we waited for 1 1/2 hours in that dang line...that is all they wanted to do, so we waited...oh the simple things in life...we love them!

Aydia would not be still, so they had to do it on her arm

They rode their first ride, and loved it. Aydia actually threw a fit when I had to take her off.

This was on Halloween. Now, you are probably wondering why they wore 2 costumes. Riley's is because she had her princess dress that was borrowed from a friend and it got ripped by another friend, so she then borrowed a mermaid outfit. Aydia's was because we didn't have the bee outfit from another friend in time for the festival.



They both really had a lot of fun trick-or-treating for the first time! Riley was so excited, she ran everywhere...hard to keep up with her while holding Aydia who is pretty cautious and did not want to walk because it was unknown! Riley would run up to the door and say, "trick or treaty." It was pretty funny! We only went to about 10 houses (mama's spleen started to hurt...mono). I have only let them have a couple pieces of the candy as well. I have been trying to pawn it off on guests. They just don't need it and neither do I! I know it seems mean, but oh well! My house, my rules folks! Hahaha!

4: Ok, this one is TMI, I know, but it is probably the most random/weird thing that ever happened to me.You will know me on a whole 'nother level after reading this!
I was with one of my bff's Holly and we were driving from Dallas to Abilene in college and her car broke down. It was a Sunday, so no tow places were open and we were in the middle of nowhere. We finally found someone that said they would come get us and that it would be around 5 hours (which it was!). As we were waiting, on the highway, I suddenly had the urge to go #2...dang it. So, as I did not want to poo right where everyone could see my bare naked hiney, I found a cup and used it (you get my drift). Then, set it outside of the car. We see a cop pulling up behind us not too long after that. I freak out and chunk the cup into the field next to us, but some of it fell out right next to the car. As the cop was walking up, he stepped in it...haha! Ok, there it is, one of my hidden stories!

5: I purposely avoid knowing anything about movies before I watch them so that I won't have a pre-conceived notion about them.

6: One of my nervous habits is, I write things on my thumb with my pointer finger, but before every word that I write, I have to "wipe" the other word off first.

7: The first time I ever met Josh, I farted on his lap...it was my test for him! I knew before I even actually met him that I wanted to marry him and I thought to myself, self, if he doesn't run away after this, everything will work out! Who has that sort of logic, I know, odd!

Ok, so in an attempt to get all you people who read my blog (I know there are quite a few of you thanks to BlogFlux and I want to know who you are!) I am going to start something. Every Monday I am going to post a question and I want you to leave a comment with your answer! Sound fun? Here we go.

Question: What do you do when you are feeling stressed?

My answer: I clean. I want to be left alone, and I go on a cleaning rampage! It is really good for my house or car!

So, I am now the biggest fan of natural remedies! I am feeling probably 90% better!

I don't have time to have mono...

...I just don't. I am a mom and a wife, and I don't have time to be this tired and not wanting to do anything. I had mono freshman year of college and it lasted for 3 months...I fell asleep eating every day. No, I don't have time for this. My approach: Garlic pills, Echinacea, multi-vitamins, Oil of Oregano and lots of fruits and veggies! Here we go!

Riley is cracking me up these days!

Setting the stage: We are eating dinner and Riley is naked.
Riley: "Mom, do you see my whole butt?"
Me: "Yes, I see your whole butt."
Riley: "It is so stinky!"

2 nights ago at dinner.
Riley: "Mom, I want you to meet my friend. Her name is Riley, she is 2 1/2."

October Activities...so far!

Well, October has been fun! For one, it is pretty much the first month in YEARS (I am not joking!) that we have had money to do anything fun! We have been able to go out to eat a couple of times and go to the fair and other things! Life is not all about money, if it was, that would suck for us the last 3 years, but it sure is fun to be able to do things!

We had a day at the Dallas Arboretum with other mommy's and kids! Here are a few pics!

Riley wore panties while we were out running errands for 5 hours today and did not have an accident! It was pretty exciting! Aydia pooped in the potty while we were out today as well! She wants to be just like Riley!

Dallas water sucks. It tastes like dirt...I miss the Colorado Rocky Mountain water...

I need to do my hair for the rest of the day activities since there will be pics being taken! I hope everyone has a great weekend...and posts a comment on my blog to make me have a great weekend!

My little Aydia!

The other day, Aydia was running around the kitchen singing. I tried to catch it, but she caught me and got a little distracted. She kept singing a little bit. All that I can catch is that she is singing a song about Dora. Then the rest of the video is just her being her!



On another note, Riley and I seemed to get some sort of sickness...it felt like the flu, but didn't last as long as the flu normally does. Ri was only sick for about half a day and I was sick for 2 days and am still experiencing some symptoms. We had body aches, fevers up to 103, cold sweats, was freezing ALL the time, and a sore throat. Aydia got a fever last night and was up for a couple of hours(so I hear...Nonnie took the girls so that I could rest and get better!). She said she is doing fine today though! With Josh's job, he was able to be here Friday and Saturday to take care of us! I has about 45 minutes where I was waiting for him to be home on Friday morning and at that moment, I truly appreciated the hours of his job! As soon as he drove up, the girls and I went out to greet him and I just started crying because I felt so sick. Ugh, so not fun. Anyways, he is at work today and the girls are at their Nonnie's house for the day, so I am ALONE!!! The last time I was totally alone was when Aydia was 2 months old! Everyone needs some alone time now and then!
