"Daddy, it's your turn."

Yesterday was quite an interesting day! On Tuesday night, I was up most of the night with Aydia because of some teething pain we think she is having, so yesterday I was really tired. I decided it was a sweat pants and movie day, well, about noon I came down with a pretty wicked migraine...one of the worst ones I have had in a long time. Because I was tired and had a headache, I asked Josh to pick up Taco Bueno for lunch on his way home for him, Riley, and me. We ate it and then I went to bed. A couple of hours later, I woke up sick to my stomach and was sick for about 2 hours. About 9pm I began to feel much better, but then Josh starts saying that his stomach is starting to hurt. It wasn't 10 minutes later that we heard some weird noises over the monitor in Riley's room. I rush in there, because it just did not sound right, to find her covered in her own throw up. I pick her up and rush her to the bathroom and tell her to aim at the toilet. Meanwhile, Josh is running down the stairs to another bathroom to throw up. They split something for lunch from Bueno and I only had a couple of bites, so that is why I did not have it as bad, but they continued to throw up until 1:30 in the morning and then Riley once more at 3am. She is the toughest little girl I have ever met. As I am holding her hair back and she is over the toilet she says, "thank you, mommy" and says it after everything I do for her; wipe her mouth, put her hair in a ponytail, hold her, give her water...and so on. It was so sweet. Well, at one point, her and Josh were in the same bathroom basically taking turns over the toilet. She threw up and then looked at Josh and said, "Daddy, it's your turn!" Then when he was all done, she says, "good job, daddy!" Oh my goodness, how sweet! I guess she is beginning to understand taking turns...we have been working on that one with her and what a hilarious time for it to come out! Anyways, she did not freak out one single time, she didn't even cry. She did everything we told her to and said thank you after it! It was so hard seeing her so sick though. Luckily, there hs been no more throw up and they are laying on the couch togeter.
Anyways, I just had to share what our night was like!

Not much!

Sorry it has been a while! I was waiting to see if anyone posted that they actually read this thing, and just heard back from one person! Awesome! Oh well, I guess that is better than nobody!
Well, we have all been sick the last couple of weeks. First it was Riley, then it was Aydia, then Riley again, then me. Their is still some nose running, but everyone seems to be finally feeling better! We are definitely one of those families that passes things around...at least the girls and I! Josh doesn't really get sick which is good, then he can help us recover!
Other than that, we have just sort of been hanging out. We have done a lot with friends, which is always really fun! Even though I can't think of a lot of stuff we have actually done, it feels like we have been really busy!
A few things about the girls. Riley is way into movies right now and wants to watch them all day long, so we have to limit her time and then hear "I watch movie" all day long! She has learned how to count to ten! Her new saying is, "Uh-oh, what happened?" Aydia is crawling all over the place and getting fast! She just started saying dog, un-oh, bye bye, hi, of course, she already said mama, dada, and yay. She is beginning to seem not as babyish and more kiddish! It is fun and sad all at the same time.

Lots going on!

Well, a lot has happened since my last post! We went to Colorado for Christmas and had tons of fun! Riley really enjoyed Christmas this year, she loved to open gifts! Of course, Aydia loved the tissue paper just as much as the gifts she got and ended up sleeping through half of the gift opening! Aydia crawled across a room while we were there, so it was neat for my family to get to see that! Now, she is just a little crawling machine and has even started pulling up! She will be walking soon I am sure and then my life will get a whole lot busier!
We came back to Dallas and had an awesome after Christmas Christmas with the Brocks! Andrew and Lenzie came in town from New Mexico and Amanda surprised everyone and came in from Peru! The girls loved getting to see all 3 of them, as did Josh and I!
My best friend Emily was able to come back to Dallas with us for a week! It was really fun having her here! She was here over New Years and we were able to go out for New Years Eve, which is also her bday! We went to this party downtown and got to dress up! It is such a rarity, so it was pretty awesome! She just left yesterday, and things are getting back to normal now for just a little bit.
The girls are actually both sick right now, so it could be a rough day. They are napping. On top of the sicknesses, Aydia gets her 9 month shots today, so she will be feeling really bad tonight and tomorrow. I can't believe she is 9 months old already. My babies are close to being 1 and 2...craziness!!!
I do not remember if I mentioned that Josh had been trying to get into the fire academy or not, but he did get in and is going to start in February. The school is from Feb to May, so we are really excited about that! We are so thankful to the Lord that he worked all of this out! Josh is so ready to have a career and firefighting is truly perfect for him! He is going to make such an awesome fireman! Anyways, unless he gets hired on at a fire station during school, it is unpaid, so we will be trying to figure out what we are going to do during the next couple of months! It will all work out though!
Anyway, here are a few pictures of the last couple of months!

Oh, and if anyone actually reads this, please make a comment so that I know I am not keeping up with this blog for no reason! That would be awesome! Thanks!
