Come on bloggers!

Ok, so I have recently confessed to some people that I read their blogs even though they don't know who I am, so I am wanting to know who all of you out there are that are reading! A couple of people have commented and I think it is fun to know who is reading about our lives! At first, I thought it was a little creepy, but then I realized that I do the same thing...and I am definitely not a creep! So, comment away bloggers!
Anyways, onto things that have been happening in our lives. Josh graduated fire school! That was pretty exciting! His brother, Andrew, and his wife, Lenzie surprised us and came into town for his graduation! Josh was so happy! Here is a pic of Josh after he had just got his diploma.

Since it has been so freakin hot here in Texas, we have been doing a lot of swimming! The girls like it for about 10 minutes and then Riley just wants to sit on the edge and Aydia wants to go throw the dog food into their bowls of water...I let her of course, it keeps her occupied for a LONG time!
Aydia is getting ALL 4 of her molars right now, so she has had random freak outs...I am sure I would too, I am sure it hurts! This is a picture of sweet little Aydia when she is teething...I could not resist!

So, an update on Josh's job situation, he has a chief's interview in 1 hour and this is the last step. This is the "yes or no" interview! Josh has a long time family friend that works for this city who gave a great recommendation for Josh (he is a chief and has been with this city for 20 some years!). After Josh's panel interview, he called and told Josh that he really impressed everyone and that his chances were REALLY high at getting the job! This would be AWESOME!!!! He would start July 1 and get his first paycheck July 15, which is SOOOOOO needed right now! This is a picture we took of him all dressed up for his interview! He looks so cute!

So, I have been decorating the girls room where we are moving and am doing 4 pictures on one wall, one of me as a baby, Josh as a baby, Aydia and Riley. These are the pictures I have picked out for the girls, I think they are really cute and actually look a lot alike in them. They are both of when they were 9 months old.

These last 2 pics are just cute ones! Riley is making her "silly face" and Aydia is just smiling, cute as ever!

Ok, lastly, I really need you blogger's advice on this one. I am looking for a new double stroller. The one I have now, the Graco duoglider, I absolutely cannot stand. It worked good for about a year and then just decided it hated me. I try to not have to use it because it is so frustrating to me. I go through the stores with my teeth gritted saying, "I hate this stroller!" People look at me like I am crazy because I get so mad about a stroller! It is pretty funny! Anyways, if you know of a good one, please let me know...I need it!

Family Night at Fire School!

On May 9th, we had family/friends night at Josh's school. It was so much fun. We got to watch them put out 3 fires and rip apart a car with the Jaws of Life. It was just so cool to get to see what Josh has been doing and learning the past 16 weeks! The first fire we watched was a car fire and one of the ladies who is a fire fighter told us that it was 3400 degrees and Josh and his fellow men were literally next to it, plus they had all their gear on. We were sitting probably 50 feet away from it and it was so hot on our faces, I can't imagine what it felt like to all of them. The girls had a lot of fun watching! Riley kept saying, "Look, it's daddy with all of his friends!" It was so cute! Here are some pictures of the night!

This is the car fire...the 3400 degree one!

My hot and sexy fireman!

Doctor visit...

So, Thursday afternoon, Riley started saying that it was, "owie" when she would go potty and then when I wiped her. I knew that she had a UTI...Aydia has reflux in her ureters and had been in the hospital 7 months ago for a UTI and they told me that it was generally a hereditary thing and Riley would probably show up with a UTI sooner or later. I just signed Riley up on Medicaid and hadn't received my papers yet and so I went through hours on the phone trying to figure out where I should take her. Finally they told me to go see Dr. Kassab in Garland, TX. I called and they were closed, so Friday morning at 9 I call back to make an appointment and the receptionist (who was very rude) said, "When do you want to come in, pick your time." So I pick 11. We head on over and as soon as I walk in, the place is filthy and smells nasty. I go to the front desk and the receptionist is on her cell phone talking to her friend about Babies R Us and doesn't even take the phone away from her ear to talk to me. We fill out our papers and wait. The receptionist opens the door and says, "Ok, come on back." It turns out, she is the nurse as well. We walk through the doors and into a small room only to find a much more pungent smell. The nurse/receptionist asks a couple of questions and says, "The doctor will be right in." In walks this old, white haired man and he proceeds to ask a couple of questions, as best as he can seeing as he does not speak much English. He hands me a thermometer and says, "Here mom, take her temperature, I will be back in a couple of minutes." I am thinking where is the nurse, why am I doing this? Turns out, she is back on her cell phone talking about Babies R Us. The doctor comes back in and asks me what her temp was...didn't even look for himself. Then he tells me that he needs to look at her...you know what. I pull her pants off and lay her across my lap (I was not about to lay her on the bed that had just a regular sheet on it that I am sure has NEVER been washed). He didn't wash his hands or put gloves on and begins to touch her legs, I look down at his hands and notice that there is dirty filth underneath his fingernails. Luckily, he only touched her leg for a couple of seconds. Then, he asks, "Do you think she would pee in a cup?" "Yes, I think she would," I say. He goes out to the desk directly outside of my room and begins to rummage around for something. He picks up a styrofoam cup and dumps out it's contents and hands it to me saying, "Here, the bathroom is over there." I look into this cup and it has dirty filth all around the rim and still has some dark liquid in the bottom of it. Are you freaking kidding me? I set the cup down and RAN. I felt like I was in a third world country or something. I could not even believe that had just happened in America...Garland, TX of all places.
I took her somewhere else and they confirmed that she has a UTI and is on meds and feeling much better! Here are some pics to end it out!
