We took the girls to the zoo on friday! It was TONS of fun! They loved it! Aydia's fav was the gorilla, we got to see him REALLY close...of course, my camera died halfway through, so I did not get a picture, but she kept saying, "I wike da gwilla!" She would notice things about the animals such as, that they were taking a nap, or eating lunch, or sitting down. Riley's fav was the elephant! She really liked him! Riley would notice things such as, what they were eating or that there was something stuck on the animal. The gorilla kept sitting and then getting up and walking away from us and Riley would say, "Mom, look, there is grass on the gorilla's but. Hehehe, that's funny!" Here are some pics of our fun day! We got a membership for the girls bday, so I am sure we will have LOTS more posts about the zoo!
Crazy story, when we went to look at the tiger, as we were walking in, a large crowd of people were walking out. As we got up to the glass, we noticed this cute little girl, probably 18 months old or so just standing there by herself. Josh walked around to see if maybe her parents were around the corner, but nobody was there, she was definitely all by herself. I picked her up and told Josh to go see if he could find a worker to help us find her parents. I debated what to do, but just decided to wait right there with her until I saw either a woman come in screaming for her child or with the most panicked look on her face. As Josh was walking back with a zoo worker, he saw a woman running that resembled this little girl and asked if she was looking for her daughter and she said she was, so he told her that she was in there with me. As soon as she turned the corner, I KNEW it was her, she was soooo frightened and the little girl got excited when she saw her. It was pretty scary, I didn't know if she had been left for good or just lost or what, but I was soooo thankful that God cleared that room out so that we could see her alone and keep her safe...it could have been really bad. The mom was really thankful that we found her and said that she got in the stroller and then must have slipped out to go back when she wasn't looking...ugh, I can't imagine what she was feeling.
